Job Description:

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated Component Engineer to support the sourcing, qualification, and lifecycle management of components for new product development. This role will be responsible for partnering with design engineering to identify cost-effective, high-quality components, managing engineering change requests, and analyzing cost impacts to ensure the scalability and resiliency of our products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Source and qualify electronic, mechanical, and electro-mechanical components for new product development.

  • Conduct cost analysis and optimization to drive component cost reductions and improve product margins.

  • Maintain and update the component database, lifecycle status, and obsolescence planning.

  • Collaborate with engineering and supply chain to ensure component selection aligns with performance, cost, and availability requirements.

  • Manage engineering change requests (ECRs) and component modifications, ensuring seamless integration into production while mitigating risks.

  • Work closely with suppliers to ensure compliance with industry standards, environmental regulations, and quality requirements.

  • Develop and execute validation and testing plans for new components to ensure reliability and performance.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to component sourcing, cost savings, and supplier management.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.

  • 3-5 years of experience in component engineering, sourcing, or supplier management in a high-volume manufacturing environment.

  • Strong understanding of component qualification, lifecycle management, and cost analysis.

  • Experience with engineering change management (ECR/ECO processes) and component database maintenance.

  • Familiarity with cost modeling, supplier negotiations, and value engineering principles.

  • Knowledge of industry standards and regulatory compliance.

  • Proficiency in PLM systems.

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
