Role Overview:
The HR Business Partner works at both a strategic and operational level within the Advisory function, partnering with multiple client groups in the capacity of trusted advisor. The role will support and advise commercial management on aligning the people strategy with business goals/objectives. Provides advice on all HR related queries in the employment relationship and partners with HR Centres of Excellence (COEs) to help drive the delivery of the people strategy, implement change and transformation of the business through people focused initiatives. Role Responsibilities
Business Partnering
Work proactively with assigned client groups in the implementation of the strategic HR objectives
Collaborate and partner with HR COEs to aid implementation and delivery of HR initiatives being the key interface between client groups and HR
Ensure client groups understand their people challenges and coach on appropriate interventions
Translate business requirements into effective HR practices, delivering people solutions aligned to business objectives
Advise and support client groups on organisational design, departmental restructures and change management activities
Participate in the roll out of culture and conduct for client groups and ongoing reinforcement of initiative
Where performing a global lead HRBP role, ensure communication with regional and divisional HRBP colleagues is regular and productive to ensure all colleagues have a voice
Act as a role model by consistently displaying the company values in daily interactions
Talent
Identify and manage the talent profile within client groups including, individual and departmental training needs
Ensure all training initiatives are appropriately communicated to client group with their active participation
Plan for succession and identify values, behaviours and skills for future leaders
Employee Relations
In partnership with the ER team, provide clear advice on all aspects of employee related matters
Manage processes related to performance, involuntary terminations, redundancy processes and settlement agreements
The active delivery of job descriptions, objectives and semi-annual performance reviews in line with regulatory requirements
Advise on occupational health issues, seeking specialist support and initiate Permanent Health Insurance process in accordance with policy
HR Analytics
Work with HRIS on data quality and data use across client groups, with the goal of using data to support key HR initiatives
Ensure regular MI and analytics for relevant committees is completed in a timely manner
Reward
Work in partnership with Reward and the business to complete due diligence on contractual terms and challenging commercial decisions
Work with specialist functions on compensation and with Legal on requirements for new employees and produce approvals paperwork for onward submission
Resourcing
Partner with the Talent Acquisition team to identify potential resourcing solutions and the promotion of Early Careers Programme and the Apprenticeship Levy
Discuss, challenge and agree resource requirements with Senior leadership to ensure alignment with strategic objectives
Interview candidates providing structured feedback to client groups on suitability
General
Play an active role within the team environment, share knowledge and support to HR colleagues
Proactively and collaboratively partner with HR Operations to ensure first class business delivery
May represent HR function at business Committees, as required
Maintain knowledge of legislative changes impacting employees in regional jurisdiction
Perform other duties as assigned by HR senior management
May include management duties for HR Advisor role
Statutory/Regulatory
Has a good understanding of the regulatory framework in the key locations in which the firm operates.
Is familiar with the regions regulatory environment and requirements under the remuneration code.
Experience / Competences
Essential
Experience of performing a business partnering / advisory capacity role, working with senior stakeholders
Exceptionally strong communicator, able to adapt style to suit audience and extract key messages to deliver high-impact communications both verbally and in writing
Strong critical thinking skills to resolve and address business issues, HR needs, employee engagement and processes
Previous experience leading HR activities on large-scale organisational change and/or mergers/acquisitions preferred
Previous experience managing end to end employee related cases and up to date knowledge of UK employment law is preferable
Level 7 CIPD qualified or equivalent experience
Experience working in a high pressure, busy and fast-changing environment
Comfortable executing within tight deadlines
Strong relationship and stakeholder management skills
Comfortable influencing and collaborating with senior stakeholders – comfortable to challenge decisions and thoughts of senior stakeholders whilst maintaining positive working relationships
Able to quickly establish rapport, credibility, trust and respect
Enjoys collaboration and operating as a team player and works well with HR COEs to successfully deliver on HR initiatives
