Job Description
At Heart Aerospace we develop the ES-30, a regional hybrid-electric airplane with a capacity of 30 passengers, an electric zero-emission range of 200 km and an extended hybrid range of 400 km. Heart is targeting type certification of the ES-30 by the end of the decade.
Our headquarters is based in Gothenburg, Sweden and we are now opening up a R&D hub in Los Angeles, which will focus on the advancement of Heart鈥檚 hybrid-electric propulsion system and other key technologies.
We are looking for a Senior Propulsion Engineer to join our growing team in the U.S. Do you have experience with turbomachinery components and want to contribute to a more sustainable future?
Your mission
Heart is building a hybrid, battery-electric regional aircraft to decarbonize and democratize aviation. As part of the Propulsion team, you will be responsible for the design and integration of the propulsion system, including turbomachinery components.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- The opportunity to exercise full ownership over the design, fabrication and test of novel flight component
- Lead the design of turbomachinery, including combustion systems, fluid analysis, high speed rotating machinery, and similar.
- Lead and execute system level tests, for example engine and propellor test stands.
You will report to the CTO and your our place of work will be at our office located in Los Angeles, in the U.S.
- 3+ years professional experience working with propulsion components such as gas turbines, thermal management systems, propellors and ancillary systems.
- Experience using CAD software in a professional environment (e.g., NX, CATIA, SolidWorks or similar).
- Experience designing and testing components to environmental qualification standards such as DO-160G, MIL-STD-810, or similar
- Strong mechanical manufacturing fundamentals including GD&T
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Passion for aircraft and electrification of the aviation industry
Education
- Bachelor's or above in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, or similar engineering discipline.
