At Heart Aerospace we develop the ES-30, a regional hybrid-electric airplane with a capacity of 30 passengers, an electric zero-emission range of 200 km and an extended hybrid range of 400 km. Heart is targeting type certification of the ES-30 by the end of the decade.

Our headquarters is based in Gothenburg, Sweden and we are now opening up a R&D hub in Los Angeles, which will focus on the advancement of Heart鈥檚 hybrid-electric propulsion system and other key technologies.

We are looking for an Electrical Engineer to join our growing team in the U.S. Do you have experience building Flight Electronics and want to contribute to a more sustainable future?

Your mission

Heart Aerospace is building a hybrid, battery-electric regional aircraft to decarbonize and democratize aviation.

As an Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, build, and test of flight electronics, including flight control systems, power conversion (inverters and electrical conversion), environmental control, and propulsion systems.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Be a key member of a cross functional team to design, test and build flight electronics.
  • Conduct circuit analysis experience using simulation tools (spice) and hand calculations.
  • Assisting with development of digital systems, including integrating and writing software for microcontrollers. Ideally, experience with high-speed buses such as Ethernet and CAN
  • Ability to exercise full ownership over the design, fabrication and test of novel flight components.

You will report to the CTO and your our place of work will be at our office located in Los Angeles, in the U.S.

  • Experience designing electronics for aerospace, automotive, industrial, or similar systems.
  • Strong electrical engineering fundamentals, including design and analysis of power circuits, high-speed digital systems, analog circuits. Professional experience with schematic capture and PCB layout.
  • Experience using CAD software in a professional environment (e.g., Altium, Cadence, or similar).
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills in English
  • Passion for aircraft and electrification of the aviation industry

Education

  • Bachelor's in electrical engineering, computer science, mechanical engineering, or similar engineering discipline.
