About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled EHS Consultant to join our team and support clients in achieving compliance with environmental, health, and safety (EHS) regulations while advancing their sustainability goals. This role offers an opportunity to work on impactful projects, including EHS audits, ESG advisory, and environmental permitting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • EHS Audits & Compliance: Conduct environmental, health, and safety (EHS) audits, including due diligence and compliance assessments, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and best practices.
  • Health & Safety Expertise: Apply knowledge of health and safety (HS) protocols during audits and evaluations to promote safe and compliant operations.
  • Environmental Permitting: Assist clients through the environmental permitting process, ensuring compliance with national and international regulations.
  • Sustainability & ESG Advisory: Provide strategic guidance on sustainability initiatives and ESG compliance, including alignment with frameworks such as the EU Taxonomy and Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD).
  • Impact Assessments & Due Diligence: Contribute to Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA), Environmental and Social Impact Assessments (ESIA), and Environmental and Social Due Diligence (ESDD) to support sustainable project development.
  • Proposal Development: Support proposal preparation in collaboration with line managers and proposal teams.
  • Training & Professional Development: Participate in structured training programs and on-the-job learning to enhance expertise in EHS and ESG topics.
  • Project & Client Management: Manage or coordinate small to medium-sized projects, ensuring timely delivery, budget adherence, and high client satisfaction.
  • Industry & Regulatory Monitoring: Stay updated on market trends, regulatory changes, and industry best practices to enhance service offerings.
  • Knowledge Sharing: Actively contribute to knowledge-sharing initiatives within the team and across global practice areas.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Geography, Planning & Development, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years in EHS, environmental impact assessments, or related fields, preferably within a consulting environment.
  • Language Skills: Fluency in English and Romanian; additional language proficiency is a plus.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of Romanian EHS regulations, permitting procedures (EIA, SEA, environmental permits), and international E&S standards (e.g., IFC Performance Standards, EBRD Performance Requirements).
  • Project Management: Prior experience in managing projects is advantageous.
  • Skills & Attributes:
    • Strong communication (verbal & written) and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects under tight deadlines.
    • Team-oriented with a commitment to excellence and safety.
    • Willingness to travel within Romania and internationally (special focus on Hungary).
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant digital tools.
    • Valid driving license with active driving experience.
