Job Description
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager - Construction to oversee and manage solar EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) projects from inception to completion. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and adhere to safety and quality standards. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and effective communication to coordinate with internal teams, subcontractors, and clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of solar construction projects, ensuring milestones and objectives are met.
- Develop project timelines, budgets, and resource plans, and track progress through project management tools.
- Manage relationships with stakeholders, including clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure clear communication and alignment.
- Oversee on-site construction activities, ensuring compliance with design specifications, safety standards, and environmental regulations.
- Manage procurement and delivery of equipment, ensuring timely arrival of materials for construction milestones.
- Lead and manage construction teams, including subcontractors, to ensure seamless execution.
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, resolve issues, and ensure project objectives are being met.
- Facilitate meetings, prepare progress reports, and address concerns with project stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with local building codes, permits, and regulatory requirements.
- Identify potential risks, implement mitigation strategies, and resolve construction challenges.
- Manage project budgets, track costs, and implement cost-control measures.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor鈥檚 degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of experience in construction project management, preferably within the solar, renewable energy, or utility-scale industry.
- Strong knowledge of solar PV systems, electrical infrastructure, and construction best practices.
- Proficient in project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, or equivalent.
- Strong understanding of OSHA safety standards and environmental regulations.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints.
- Proven ability to manage budgets, schedules, and resources effectively.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
- PMP Certification or relevant industry certifications preferred.
- Willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
