Job Summary 

This position is based out of the Unirac Headquarters located in Albuquerque, NM. The Quality Engineer works closely with Unirac Engineering, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain teams. The Quality Engineer will report to the Quality Manager.  This role will serve as a liaison between the Quality Control Inspectors and the Quality Manager, while monitoring key quality processes through identified key performance indicators.  

 

Responsibilities 

  • Perform internal quality audits, document non-conformance events and corrective actions. Trend metrics for Change Control, and Customer Complaints.  

  • Investigate non-conforming products and services to root cause, 5 whys and 8Ds as required and recommend improvements. Track NCMR鈥檚 and PDCA鈥檚 resolution and report findings to management.  

  • Perform and participate with other company internal auditors regarding training, compliance and schedules.  

  • Ensure product and equipment conforms to specifications, drawings, process controls, operating manuals, calibration and preventive maintenance schedules and weights and measurements forms.  

  • Assists in the incoming inspection process to ensure continuous flow of quality materials to the Unirac facility.  

  • Facilitates compliance training requirements and competency documentation.  

  • Facilitates Work Instruction development and Document Control processes. 

  • Develop inspection procedures, quality records and sampling plans.  

  • Write technical and management reports as needed.  

  • Responsible for communicating quality concerns to various stakeholders throughout the Unirac organization.  

  • Other duties as assigned.  

  • Comply with all company policies and safety regulations and procedures.  

 

Requirements 

  • Bachelor鈥檚 degree or 5 yrs experience  

  • Superior attention to detail. Proven verbal and written communication skills with all levels of the organization.  

  • Ability to interact well with others and create a positive teamwork environment required.  

  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required.  

  • Familiarity with and ability to use hand tools.  

  • Can read and interpret CAD drawings.
