Vehicle Support Engineer

The Role

Motiv is looking for a Vehicle Support Engineer who will build and manage a small team of technicians to work out of our Novi facility in Michigan & support our local chassis upfitters.

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of the technical support team in Novi.
• Manage all manufacturing service Technicians in Novi.
• Manage & Provide inspection and repairs service for Chassis and Vehicle at upfitters and bodybuilders prior to manufactured vehicles being delivered to Motiv customers
• Support vehicle recalls and upgrades locally when it makes sense.
• Manage any prototype fabrication required in Novi & providing feedback to Motiv's engineering and manufacturing teams.
• Responsible for developing and managing an RMA and spare parts depot out of Novi
• Provide support to Motiv's Customer Support team as needed.
• Manage the Manufacturing Bring up of Chassis at upfitter.
• Train the upfit team in the bring up and commissioning of the chassis prior to delivery to the bodybuilder.
• Work with Engineering and software teams on continuous improvements ideas for the chassis bring up process to reduce lead time.
• Work with the Chassis build manager on build support as required.

Required Experience and Skills

• 10 years professional experience in Vehicle Support.
• 3 years experience with EV vehicles systems.
• 5 years experience with electro mechanical systems.
• 3 years experience with vehicle software deployment.
• OEM Chassis manufacturing experience a plus.
• Strong management skills with great attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills
• AA, BA, BS or equivalent
• Familiarity with TS-16949, AEC-Q100, ISO and other manufacturing certifications
