This role has a strong focus on the integration of the Archer’s fault tolerant flight controls computer with the other aircraft systems, such as avionics, batteries, engines and surface actuators.What You’ll Do:<ul><li>Work with a multi-disciplinary team to develop, integrate and test the aircraft flight controls software</li><li>Closely work with aircraft systems, verification, flight test,  and integration teams.</li><li>Perform functional and requirement-based testing on a variety of environments, including simulators, software labs, systems labs and aircraft prototypes</li><li>Navigate through systems and software requirements, architecture diagrams, Simulink models, C source code files, lab stations configuration files and supplier documents to quickly identify issues and propose integrated solutions</li><li>Organize and prioritize work in order to lead other engineers to efficiently solve problems </li><li>Manage and disposition problem reports found during test campaigns and interface with the software development team to implement corrective actions</li><li>Support aircraft production, ground and flight testing troubleshooting</li><li>Develop and continuously improve processes &amp; guidelines to increase safety and efficiency</li><li>Participate in planning, design, scheduling, prioritizing, and tracking the project.</li></ul>What You Need:<ul><li>Collaborative mindset</li><li>Excellent verbal and written interpersonal communication</li><li>Excellent organizational skills</li><li>Passion for learning and problem solving</li><li>10+ years of experience working with critical, complex, real-time embedded systems</li><li>Bachelor of Science in Systems Engineering, Controls Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related degree</li><li>Experience with fight controls, avionics, powertrain, or related systems</li><li>Experience with systems verification</li><li>Working knowledge of hardware and software integration in a lab environment</li><li>Understanding of communication standards and protocols (RS-422/485, CAN, ARINC-429, AFDX, Ethernet, TCP/IP, etc.)</li><li>Familiarity with debuggers and lab instruments such as oscilloscopes and bus analyzers</li><li>Proficiency with C language</li><li>Experience with MATLAB/Simulink</li><li>Fluency with widely used scripting languages like bash and Python</li><li>Must be on-site at Archer San Jose, CA office with ability to travel to Salinas, CA</li></ul>Bonus Qualifications:<ul><li>Experience with tools development and automation</li><li>Familiarity with safety standards like DO-178C and ARP4754 to high criticality levels</li><li>Knowledge of Real Time Operating Systems (RTOS) and multi-threading</li><li>Experience with FPGAs and VHDL or Verilog languages</li></ul>Please note that this job description is intended to provide a general overview of the position and does not include an exhaustive list of responsibilities and qualificationsAt Archer we aim to attract, retain, and motivate talent that possess the skills and leadership necessary to grow our business.
