Director, Partnerships Business Development

As the Partnerships Account Manager, you will be the primary point of contact for partners that drive consumer volumes (demand) to the EnergySage Marketplace. Partnerships with utilities, content publishers, corporates, industry organizations, nonprofits, local governments–such as National Grid, DSIRE, Intuit, the City of Cambridge and Environment America–have been critical to EnergySage’s success since our inception and continue to play an important role in empowering Americans to make informed solar decisions.

You will be assigned select partners and are responsible for collaborating closely with them on the education of their audience about solar and their promotion of the EnergySage Marketplace. You are responsible for balancing the performance of your partnerships while ensuring partner satisfaction. Tracking and optimizing the results driven from your partners and hustling as needed to achieve goals is your top priority. You are focused on developing and nurturing long-term business relationships, ensuring win-win-win partnerships that deliver value for EnergySage, for our partners, and for consumers. Reporting to the Vice President of Partnerships, as a key member of the Partnerships team you will contribute to the scaling of our B2B2C efforts.

What You’ll Do:

  • Build relationships with contacts across partner organizations
  • Provide proactive support to your partnerships contacts via video meetings and email on a regular basis, and through in-person meetings as appropriate
  • Grow results on key performance metrics including consumers engaged and revenue
  • Continuously monitor and report on partnerships performance data; Identify and pitch growth opportunities that fit each partners’ unique profile
  • Activate dormant partnership accounts
  • Collaborate across EnergySage teams including Marketing, Marketplace (Energy Advising and Installer Partner Success), Product and Finance & Accounting to ensure the success of your partnerships 
  • Troubleshoot challenges that present barriers to partnership success; Propose solutions and work with VP of Partnerships to identify paths forward 
  • Advocate for the best interest of your partners internally, the best interest of EnergySage with partners, and the best interest of consumers, always
  • Innovate on processes and partnerships team practices

What We Look For:

  • Direct experience as partnerships or B2B client account manager- preferably in energy, software, or advertising/marketing- with progressive levels of responsibility over time
  • B2B2C or B2C marketing expertise
  • Proven track record nurturing long-term business relationships and improving key performance metrics
  • The utmost professionalism and diplomacy
  • Appreciation for both the art and science of relationships
  • Ability to manage multiple accounts and business relationships 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and attention to detail
  • Commitment to documentation, reporting and staying organized
  • Process-orientation; enjoys creating order where it is needed 
  • Motivated by protecting the environment, sustainability practices, fairness or mission-driven work
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Experience working with utilities, publishers, corporate partners or nonprofits are a plus
