This will be performed for competitive estimates and change orders.  In addition, the duties will include providing project support duties as requested by the Lead Estimator and/or Project Manager.This is a hybrid position with work from home and in the office as needed to support collaboration and teamwork in the preparation of proposals and bids.RESPONSIBILITIES:<ul><li>Review and incorporate historical data from past projects, subcontracts, productivity analysis reports, etc. into unit and man-hour figures. </li><li>Review contracts, proposal specifications, drawings, attend pre-bid meetings, etc. to determine scope of work and required contents of the estimate. </li><li>Prepare estimates by calculating the complete takeoff of the scope of work. </li><li>Coordinate total estimating effort relevant to a particular bid / project. </li><li>Review all final estimate packages with operations personnel prior to formal quotation to ensure accuracy and completeness. </li><li>Participate in bid strategy and presentation meetings as requested. </li><li>Support Corporate and Regional personnel in preparation of estimates. Provide technical support as necessary. </li><li>Manage subordinate estimating team members. Build the team as necessary.</li><li>Maintain files of working documents as back-up for estimate figures. </li><li>Assist in developing and supporting the proposal response.  Includes writing work plans, schedule development, and other technical responses. </li><li>Manage RFP process for necessary suppliers and subcontractors. </li><li>Interface with owner, A/E, partners, or other contractors to provide engineering and cost data to assist Operations in the final evaluation of bid / proposal. </li><li>Follow awarded contracts – may include estimating extra work items, change orders, credits, procurement of material etc.</li><li>Facilitate contract handoff to PM / Operations.  Includes job cost tracking set-up, development of revenue recognition units, and productivity analysis reporting.</li><li>Assume additional duties and responsibilities as delegated by Sargent Electrical Management.</li></ul>SKILLS:<ul><li>Proficient in Microsoft Office.</li><li>Strong interpersonal and communication skills</li><li>Works efficiently under tight time frames, responds to requests in a timely manner, and communicates effectively as a team player. </li><li>Understands the importance of being able to multi-task.</li></ul>------------------------------BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:<ul><li>Bachelor Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or Business, transmission &amp; distribution construction discipline or equivalent work experience.</li><li>Experience utilizing electrical estimating software (AccuBid, B2W, Conest, etc).</li><li>Understanding of electrical transmission, distribution, and substation experience from 12kV to 345kV.</li><li>Thorough understanding of labor risk factors including, but not limited to, location, weather, labor availability, installation difficulty, and scheduling.</li><li>Advanced knowledge of all standard electrical systems in Transmission and Distribution construction projects.</li></ul>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:<ul><li>3+ years' experience in Distribution and Transmission estimating.</li><li>Previous estimating experience with a contractor actively engaged in sub/T&amp;D construction for major utilities.</li><li>Electrical transmission, distribution, &amp; substation experience from 12kV to 345KV, Civil, HVDC, SVC, GIS, and AIS.</li></ul> </div>
