The opportunity


We are looking for a new System Architect to join our team at Hitachi Energy in Sweden! Our System Architects are responsible for the design, realization, and maintenance of systems for Hitachi Energy Grid and Power Quality Solutions and Service offerings. This includes integrating power electronics devices with reliable and secure control, monitoring, and supervision solutions for the power grid and at the edge.

How you’ll make an impact

  • Define and own system/solution architecture to meet business and technical requirements, and ensure all solutions adhere to industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
  • Guide and oversee development teams in creating sustainable, secure, and scalable systems, integrating software and hardware components in a cohesive and efficient manner, while providing technical guidance and mentorship.
  • Prepare and maintain high-quality technical designs and documentation, and define setups for operations/engineering, maintenance, and support, continuously improving them.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and implement new tools and methodologies to enhance system performance, security, and reliability, securing technical leadership with a long-term perspective by engaging with Hitachi Energy's internal and external network.
  • Collaborate with project managers to define project scopes, timelines, and deliverables, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Present and explain complex technical concepts to clients, stakeholders, and non-technical team members.
     

Your background

  • You have a master or PhD degree in Engineering, computer science, software/control engineering, or similar, combined with proven work experience from relevant area.
  • Experience with system engineering and software architecture approaches, methods, and tools, including design patterns, paradigms (e.g., object-oriented programming, service-oriented architectures), and control system architectures.
  • Knowledge of system-related software development from OT to IT, industrial-oriented communication protocols and standards, and system architecture concepts (e.g., operating systems, networking, cybersecurity features, and hardening concepts).
  • Familiarity with software quality assurance principles, secure software development lifecycle, and agile development methodologies.
  • Eager to quickly learn new technologies and application domains, with the ability to work independently and take ownership and responsibility.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English, as well as technical writing
