The Sr. Service Center Associate will be responsible for managing and executing vehicle production and refurbishment, ensuring vehicles can be allocated in time to a large number of EMEA markets. As part of this, the Service Center Manager will be responsible for managing the transition to the new Barcelona SC, ensuring alignment between business needs and technical/operational requirements. Furthermore, the role will be responsible for ensuring technical/ vehicle assistance for FMs in the region. The Sr. Service Center Associate is responsible for the safety, efficiency and performance of Bird facilities and their workforce. Ensuring vehicles are maintained, refurbished and re-allocated efficiently and oversee the related tasks such as inventory management and shift planning. Responsible for providing technical/ vehicle assistance and training for local Fleet Management partners. Work cross functionally with other Service Centre Managers and Central Teams to develop process improvements and roll out change.

Responsibilities

  • Manage Production/Service Center in Barcelona, ensuring vehicle production and refurbishment for the region. Execute and oversee repairs & refurbishment of large fleets.
  • Managing two levels of mechanics and contingent labour. It is essential these individuals lead with strong EQ, an ability to manage up to their GM, but speaking the same language as their direct reports. The Sr. Service Center Associate can manage their team to goals and targets to ensure facility productivity.
  • Owner of inventory management in their facilities, both Bird operated and third party operated in their sub-region. This includes managing a facility to inventory KPIs through first hand knowledge of inventory product and process to ensure tight controls through day to day vehicle movement and the ability to project manage large scope inventory counts with highly scrutinized timelines.
  • Provide regional-wide specialist help on FM repairs. Taking a customer service approach to supporting FMs with the mechanical repair of their fleet through 1:1 interactions and training. The right individual will use a data forward approach to ensure Bird vehicles are in good working condition, whether those vehicles are in a Bird facility waiting for fleet assignment or in a Fleet Manager’s fleet.
  • Assist with and manage logistics handling for in- & outbound FGI shipments
  • Drive overarching / central topics related to vehicle engineering/ vehicle ops.

Requirements

  • 4+ years in an environment combining operations/ logistics/ mechanical tasks.
  • Project Management
  • Interpersonal skills, conflict management and strong EQ
  • Mechanically inclined and willingness to work with hands
  • Believer in Six Sigma, Kaizen or Lean operating processes
  • Travel up to 25% based on sub-region
