Job Description

Afresh is on a mission to eliminate food waste and make fresh food accessible to all. Our first A.I.-powered solution optimizes ordering, forecasting, and store operations for fresh food departments in brick-and-mortar grocers. With our Fresh Operating System, regional and national grocery retailers have placed $1.6 billion in produce orders across the US and we've helped our partners prevent 6.9 million pounds of food from going to waste. Working at Afresh represents a one-of-a-kind opportunity to have massive social impact at scale by leveraging uncommonly impactful software – we hope you'll join us!

As a product design manager, you will work closely with leadership on Product, Engineering, and Design to define and evolve our processes and our products as well as provide your team with the framing and direction to balance discovery and ideation with delivering high impact product experiences.

What you'll be doing:

  • Help build our team of talented product designers, supporting them in delivering great work and coaching and mentoring their growth.
  • Partner with Product, Research, and other cross functional stakeholders to ensure the definition and delivery of meaningful, user-centric product experiences that complement or evolve our technology and operations.
  • Contribute to our design culture of discovery, creativity, and user-centricity.
  • Collaborate with the broader Design team to evolve a successful experience for our end-users.

What we're looking for:

  • Strong alignment with our company values: humility, kindness, candor, proactivity.
  • 2+ years of experience managing product design teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication to facilitate alignment and collaboration.
  • Enthusiasm for leading a team working on a combination of optimization and greenfield design areas.
  • Understanding and desire to mentor and support the growth and skills of a team of designers.
