Your mission As a BESS Project Development Manager / Expert, you will play a key role in shaping the future of energy storage by leading the development of Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) in Utility Scale projects. You will be responsible for navigating the technical, regulatory, and commercial landscapes to ensure successful project execution and business growth. Key Responsibilities:
Project Development Leadership: Oversee the development of BESS projects from inception to execution, ensuring compliance with regulatory and technical requirements.
Commercial & Technical Feasibility: Assess BESS business cases for both standalone and co-located PV projects, analyzing revenue streams across key European markets.
Energy Modelling & Analysis: Conduct energy modeling studies, evaluate battery degradation impacts, and optimize project economics.
Technology Expertise: Maintain a strong understanding of different battery technologies, market trends, revenue mechanisms, and BESS use cases.
Regulatory & Market Knowledge: Stay up to date with regulatory frameworks, permitting processes, grid connection procedures, and electricity market structures.
Performance & KPI Management: Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for BESS project development, ensuring optimal critical route of development from Greenfield up to Ready to Build status.
Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with internal teams and external partners, including regulators, utilities, and investors, to drive project success.
Documentation & Reporting: Ensure clear documentation of project developments, technical assessments, and financial models to support decision-making.
Your profile
Experience: Minimum of 5 years in energy storage project development, with a solid understanding of commercial, technical, and regulatory aspects. Experience in European markets is a plus.
Educational Background: Bachelor鈥檚 degree in engineering. A master鈥檚 degree in Renewable Energy or a related field is a plus.
Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of BESS technologies, certifications, warranties, degradation factors, procurement of technical solutions and integration challenges.
Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with permitting, grid connection, and market regulations, will be highly valued.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, with a strong capacity for technical and commercial discussions.
Analytical Skills: Ability to assess financial models, energy simulations, and key KPIs to support strategic decision-making by Investment Committee.
Languages: Proficiency in English is required; any other European language could be considered a strong advantage.
Team Player: Ability to work effectively within a team and manage multiple complex projects involving diverse stakeholders.
