Associate Manager, Test & Validation

The company is backed by a diverse set of committed investors and we have raised over $360M to date.Role DescriptionWe are looking for an experienced test engineer with managerial experience in the field of test and development to help us develop our core technology by joining our growing battery and system test team. You will lead the test and validation team at the Berkeley site in CA, consisting of test engineers and technicians, to ensure delivery of product development and validation for the core battery and associated system components. This will involve supporting the bringing up of the test lab, developing and improving test processes and procedures, setting performance metrics across the team, and managing test personnel against their deliverables. You will also help communicate the results through regular meetings and communication channels.

What You'll Do:

• Participate in cross functional efforts with Technology Development teams to identify requirements for test and validation in line with the Form Energy program plan
• Understand and support the process of turning test procedures into actionable deliverables, providing technical direction to the team of engineers and technicians
• Oversee the test lab operations, ensuring lean working, good health and safety practices, and maintaining a professional and structured environment
• Interacts with other engineering groups to support the definition, documentation, investigation, execution, and post test analysis of tests at component and system levels
• Lead efforts to track performance of weekly metrics of CA operation, and present data based on statistical analysis tools that identify performance and/or test stand variability

What You'll Bring:

• 3+ years of experience in an engineering / technology test and validation environment
• 2 years of leadership experience
• Familiarity with test and validation hardware and test methods such as environmental, electrical reliability and stress, vibration testing etc.
• Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python and/or MATLab
• Familiarity with statistical analysis and using tools such as Minitab or JMP
• Laboratory safety and operation knowledge
• Experience with lean techniques such as Six Sigma
• Strong communication skills at all levels of the organization
• Excellent workplace organization habits
• Positive attitude and appetite to learn and grow within our organization
• High attention to detail and excellent organizational and communication skills
• Willingness to share ideas to contribute to organizational and technical problem solving
