About the Role:
As an Engineering Manager at Sesame Solar, you will be a critical part of the team that leads innovation, design, development, and implementation our 100% Renewably Powered Mobile Nanogrid Solutions. You will be responsible for energy system integration, maintaining engineering drawings, planning project deliverables and timelines.
Responsibilities:
Technical Expertise:
Possess a deep understanding of the relevant engineering design disciplines involved in Mobile Nanogrid development.
Stay up to date with the latest advancements in renewable energy technologies.
Collaborate with other teams to provide technical guidance during the Nanogrid design and manufacturing phase to ensure high quality is maintained throughout the process.
Identify and address technical challenges; seek quality in every part and efficiency in processes.
Hands on approach for system assemblies and supporting team with system integration.
Establishing and overseeing quality assurance processes.
Project Management:
Define project goals, scope, and timelines in collaboration with other team and stakeholders.
Break down projects into manageable tasks and assign ownership to team members in conjunction with the Head of Manufacturing.
Track project progress, identify and mitigate risks, and make any adjustments as needed.
In collaboration with Head of Manufacturing ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
Maintain and update comprehensive documentation for all Nanogrid systems, including design prints, user manuals etc.
Communication & Collaboration:
Communicate effectively with your manager, stakeholders, and other cross-functional teams across the company.
Clearly articulate technical concepts and decisions to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Actively participate in meetings and discussions and promote a culture of open communication and collaboration.
Metrics & Analysis:
Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for individual projects.
Analyze data to identify areas for improvement and make data-driven decisions.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field, preferably with 3+ years of experience in a relevant engineering role. Master’s degree preferred.
Strong technical skills and knowledge of the following but not limited to -
Renewable energy systems
Solar
Wind
Green Hydrogen
Engineering design – AutoCAD, Inventor, or similar modelling software
Passion for quality and continuous improvement.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
Ability to prioritize, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Passion for innovation and a strong desire to make a positive impact on the world.
Experience working in a startup environment is a plus.

Compensation Information:
$60,000 - $70,000 per year depending on experience. Salaried position with no overtime pay.
Performance bonus up to 30% of salary.
No relocation package offered at this time.
Location:
Onsite in Jackson, Michigan.
Travel:
Approx. 35% travel to support customers, partners, and events.
Benefits Information:
Medical - Sesame covers 50% of the health care premium; Employees pay 50% and for dependents.
