veritree is building the next generation digital platform to accelerate investment in nature-based carbon solutions. veritree鈥檚 digital measurement, reporting and verification (dMRV) technology enables the tracking of impacts throughout a project lifecycle to provide end-buyers with the confidence that their investment is making a real impact with positive outcomes. Our goal is to transform the way carbon emission reduction and removals as well as holistic impacts are measured, monitored, forecasted, and verified for nature-based carbon solutions.

About You:

As a Business Development Representative at veritree, you are responsible for finding and screening potential customers and brand communities that will benefit from investing in verified restoration initiatives. As the first line of communication with prospective customers, you will have a strong understanding of the veritree value proposition, our sales process, and the business pipeline. Since every potential partner is an opportunity for us to make a positive impact through tree planting, it is extremely important you have excellent communication and organization skills. 

What are the objectives of this role?

  • Proactively seek new business opportunities by identifying and engaging with new lead sources
  • Work cross-departmentally with Marketing to create outbound campaigns aimed at high-value targets
  • Represent veritree鈥檚 products and services, starting with a comprehensive understanding and leading to consumer research to identify how our solutions meet needs
  • Accurately record conversations and manage CRM pipeline of opportunities and engage sales executives for next steps
  • Book sales meetings with veritree Partnership Managers and Executives

What will you be doing?

  • You will identify and generate new sales/partnership opportunities 
  • You will hit activity goals through a multi-channel approach that includes cold calling, emailing, and networking
  • You will think creatively to build relationships with relevant stakeholders and identify decision-makers within target organizations
  • You will identify prospect鈥檚 needs and suggest appropriate products/services
  • You will build trust with prospective partners/customers as their first point of contact during initial stages of the sales cycle
  • You will proactively seek new business opportunities in the market
  • You will set up meetings or calls between prospective customers and veritree sales executives
  • You will keep CRM 100% up to date to understand where we stand with every lead, log details of every interaction, and follow up
  • You will strategically call high-potential prospects for the purpose of booking a demo with veritree executives
  • You will report to the Head of Partnerships with weekly, monthly and quarterly results (including revenue, pipeline growth, and statistics)
  • You must be flexible, open-minded, and willing to work cross-functionally as veritree grows

Requirements

Professional Requirements

  • 2+ years of relevant work experience in sales, business development, with a history of exceeding targets
  • Strong communication skills via phone and email with a natural conversational tone
  • Proficient with Hubspot or other CRM software

Typical On Target Earnings for this position is up to $100,000 per year, consisting of a base salary of $40,000-$60,000 plus a variable sales bonus. The final salary offer will be based on your qualifications, job-related skills, and relevant experience.
