About the Role

We are seeking a people-oriented Human Resources professional to join our small team. In this role you will be in charge of all people management, including hiring, onboarding and offboarding, internal events, performance reviews, compensation, compliance, supporting the leadership team, and more. You鈥檒l effectively be a team of one, reporting to the CFO/COO. 

The ideal candidate will be able to wear many hats and be agile in moving from task to task. You must have a strong capacity for proactively building workplace relationships. You are organized and can stay on top of many small and large responsibilities. You will be detail oriented and able to manage company-wide communications. 

This position requires you to be in office at least three days per week. 

 

Main Responsibilities Will Include

  • Assisting in the hiring process (alongside hiring managers and/or external recruiters) including helping write job descriptions, scheduling interviews, and sending offers.
  • Managing the full employee lifecycle including onboarding, employee engagement and retention, and offboarding.  
  • Managing employee benefits, including annual open enrollment and leave administration. 
  • Running payroll and approving monthly timesheets.
  • Owning and managing the semi-annual performance review cycles and assisting in promotion decisions. 
  • Upholding our compensation philosophy.
  • Responsible for admin work including vendor management, document management, facilitating visa support for employees where needed, managing internal events, keeping kitchen stocked, etc.
  • Helping resolve any workplace conflicts or performance issues. 
  • Managing the summer internship program. 
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommend best practices; review policies and practices to maintain company compliance.

 

Minimum Requirements

  • At least 5 years experience managing full cycle HR. 
  • Experience working in a startup environment.
  • Experience with managing payroll.
  • Experience with managing leaves of absence including parental leave.
  • Physical ability to lift and carry boxes (max. 20 lbs.), stock kitchen, set up and clean up lunches, and help with occasional tasks around the office.

Nice to haves      

  • HR certification including SHRM or other relevant certifications.
  • Familiarity with Rippling HRIS system.
  • Familiarity with Greenhouse and/or other recruiting software.
  • Experience managing an internship program. 
  • Experience running open enrollment.
  • Experience in executive assistance.
