You will be joining Via at a time of rapid growth,  impacting hundreds of thousands of  riders weekly, many of whom represent special needs populations, students, caregivers etc. As a Senior Product Designer you will bring vision but also sensitivity and empathy to these users, respectfully build products that help make their trips easier and help transit agencies achieve their mission of equitable transportation.What you'll do: <ul><li>Be the designer who charts the path for extending Via’s industry leading transit dispatch platform from on-demand to paratransit, school buses and fixed lines.</li><li>Design features with an eye towards special needs populations such as paratransit riders, students and caregivers ensuring that each experience is purposeful </li><li>Envision diverse user journeys based on the populations we are serving so that each one is fulfilled in an efficient and intuitive way while building products flexibly and scalably.</li><li>Design products that serve rides based on rider eligibility, special conditions and disability aids</li><li>Conduct user research, usability testing and work with analysts to gather insights that inform design decisions.</li><li>Craft every detail of new product features, from idea to UX to pixel-perfect execution. </li><li>Proactively identifies areas for improvement, effectively manages tradeoffs, and consistently delivers exceptional designs</li><li>Contribute to our design system intentionally as we scale.</li><li>Work through the entire lifecycle of the project and collaborate closely with product managers, analysts, engineers, and other stakeholders.</li></ul>What we are looking for:<ul><li>5-7+ years of experience in digital product design, with a strong portfolio showcasing your expertise in leading design projects from concept to launch.</li><li>Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Design, HCI, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.</li><li>Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of articulating design decisions and rationale clearly.</li><li>Craftsmanship - You have a high bar for craft and quality in your work</li><li>Experienced in working with complex systems and possesses a systems thinking mindset</li><li>Proficient with Figma, and high-fidelity prototyping tool. </li><li>Experience in motion and interaction design (advantage)</li><li>Demonstrated experience working collaboratively, taking into account constraints on timeline, scope, and technical limitations to find practicable solutions that fit the needs of each individual project</li><li>Able to take ownership, work independently &amp; be accountable for your work.</li><li>Passionate about the option to help shape and improve the future of smart transportation.</li></ul>Compensation and Benefits<ul><li>Final salary will be determined by the candidate’s experience, knowledge, and skills.
