Job Description:Position Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced High Voltage Protection Engineer to design, analyze, and test protection systems for medium- and high-voltage electrical systems. This role requires expertise in power systems protection, electrical safety standards, and hands-on experience with power conversion systems.Key Responsibilities:<ul><li>Design and optimize protection systems for medium and high-voltage electrical systems interconnected to low-voltage based power conversion systems via medium-voltage transformers.</li><li>Perform power system studies (e.g., short circuit analysis, protection coordination, arc flash hazard analysis) in compliance with industry standards.</li><li>Conduct electrical testing on medium- and high-voltage equipment in accordance with industry standards, ensuring compliance with safety protocols.</li><li>Perform failure analysis and validation for interconnected power converters products.</li><li>Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance system reliability, safety, and performance.</li><li>Document system designs, test results, and compliance reports, providing regular updates on project milestones.</li></ul>Qualifications:<ul><li>Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or related field.</li><li>Minimum of 10 years in power system protection, with hands-on experience in high-voltage hardware design and testing.</li><li>Expertise in protection design and coordination for medium- and high-voltage systems.</li><li>Strong understanding of electrical protection devices and safety standards</li><li>Familiarity with relevant industry standards, such as IEEE 1547 (series)  </li><li>Proficiency in power system simulation tools</li><li>Hands-on experience with energy systems .</li><li>Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, and safety awareness.</li><li>Excellent communication and collaboration skills in cross-functional teams.</li><li>Ability to thrive in high-pressure environments while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.</li></ul>Pay Range (Applicable to California)$190,000.00 - $210,000.00 dependent on level of experienceAt Nextracker, we are leading in the energy transition, providing the most comprehensive portfolio of intelligent solar tracker and software solutions for solar power plants, as well as strategic services to capture the full value of solar power plants for our customers.
