Senior Commodity BuyerThe Senior Commodity Buyer is responsible for the procurement of assigned components and materials. As part of the Purchasing team, the individual will provide inputs and implement strategies in alignment with plant and global procurement initiatives. Major Responsibilities:<ul><li>Overachieve Year over Year Cost Savings target for the respective commodity</li><li>Execute sourcing process from RFQ to Contract / PO release having full alignment with the different functions involved including Global Commodity Management team.</li><li>Execute Global Commodity Strategy ensuring full alignment on all sourcing projects </li><li>Ensure sourcing metrics are met including project cost targets, year over year performance, business incentives transformed into sustainable savings, payment terms, incoterms.</li><li>Work as an extension of the Global Commodity Management team communicating closely all the plant requirements to deliver and execute robust commodity management strategies. </li><li>Continuous benchmark of the commodity to ensure most competitive landed cost on the marketplace using cost breakdowns, raw material economics evolution studies, cost modeling tools, supplier suggestions and multifunction cost savings workshops.</li><li>Manage and lead supplier relationships with excellence enabling supplier success in achieving our cost savings targets and drive continuous improvement.</li><li>Manage QVC (Quality, Volume &amp; Cost) requirements for each Sourcing including volume extension, volume up-lift and capacity implementation. </li><li>Act as point of escalation on supplier shortages, quality issues and negotiate respective cost claims with suppliers</li><li>Work closely with Program Launch Buyer, Supplier Quality and Engineering during the sourcing process being part of project reviews and technical review with suppliers to understand in depth the project status, supplier process technology and challenges </li><li>Comply with all policies &amp; procedures in place for the given job role and sourcing process. </li></ul>Position RequirementsEngineering or business degree as basis with 8 years minimum experience within Global Supply management with cross knowledge between multiple commodities preferentially in key global automotive companies with similar magnitude as:<ul><li>Results oriented team player with strong relationship management skills</li><li>Fierce negotiation &amp; conflict management skills</li><li>Business case/plans build and critical interpretation including NPV and Payback analysis</li><li>Good technical knowledge foundation to build a deep understanding on the different processes, technologies and cost drivers including the use of cost modeling tools. </li><li>Knowledge on the automotive standards for supplier qualification</li><li>Strong interpersonal skills with ability to interact with all the functions at all different levels.  </li><li>Mandatory fluent English (written and spoken)</li></ul>Key Competencies<ul><li>Ethics &amp; Values</li><li>Drive for Results </li><li>Customer Focus</li><li>Informing</li><li>Interpersonal Savvy</li><li>Learning on the Fly</li><li>Priority Setting</li><li>Presentation Skills</li><li>Time Management</li></ul>Internal Use Only: SalaryGlobal Terms of Use and Privacy Statement Carefully read the BorgWarner Privacy Policy before using this website.
