Acciona is seeking experienced Project Engineers within the Civil and Electrical space to join its Transmission Lines team in Sydney. This is an excellent opportunity for dynamic engineering professionals to contribute to the design and construction of high-capacity transmission infrastructure.
Overview
In these roles, you will:
- Collaborate with a diverse team to deliver projects safely, on time, and within budget.
- Manage and oversee quality, environmental, and safety standards throughout all phases of project execution.
- Coordinate with subcontractors and internal teams to ensure compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Quality & Environmental Management: Implement and monitor project quality plans while ensuring compliance with relevant standards, policies, and legislative requirements.
- Subcontractor Oversight: Monitor and control subcontractors’ performance to ensure the highest standard of workmanship.
- Operational Excellence: Oversee the operational aspects of project delivery to optimise efficiency and system utilisation.
- Reporting & Documentation: Prepare comprehensive project status reports and manage change orders as required.
- Planning & Execution: Ensure that all construction-related activities are meticulously planned and executed to meet performance targets in relation to time, cost, and quality.
Required Skills and Competencies
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related discipline. Civil or Electrical background ideal.
- Experience: A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a construction/engineering environment, preferably with Tier 1 contractors.
- Technical Expertise: Proven experience in earthworks (including self-performed scopes), cost management, programme management, and the development of methodologies such as SWMS and EWMS.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Team Leadership: Experience in managing or working alongside teams, including graduate and site engineers.
- Availability: Ability to commence work immediately or as soon as required.
- Previous experience in substations, switching yards and transmission lines at 330kV or higher (ideally 500kV) is highly regarded
