JOB OVERVIEW
In accordance with prescribed safety procedures and regulations: Provide support services associated with the financial and accounting processes of the company. This includes, but is not limited to, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payments, payroll, invoices, material receipts, taxes, budgets, financial reports, fixed assets, investments, and system development. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Working in accordance with prescribed safety procedures and regulations:
- Perform financial tasks such as accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, taxes, invoices, and financial reporting.
- Handle transactions including receivables, payables, investment transactions, material receipts, and bank drafts.
- Handle the processing of accounts payable transactions, including reviewing and ensuring the accuracy of invoices, processing approved invoices for payment, and resolving discrepancies related to purchase orders and payments.
- Track outgoing payments, ensuring they are processed in a timely and accurate manner, and maintain records of all payments made.
- Verify expense reports, ensuring costs are correctly allocated to the appropriate accounts, and reconcile accounts to maintain financial accuracy.
- Process and file taxes, including goods and service tax and retail sales tax payments and refunds. Screen purchase orders and invoices for proper application of taxes and ensure compliance with relevant tax regulations.
- Assist with budget preparation, financial reports, and cash forecasting. Review financial performance, identify variances, and provide recommendations for managing accounts payable effectively.
- Administer cost control systems, databases, and accounting systems for tracking accounts payable, fixed assets, and other financial data. Provide advice on system improvements and ensure proper operation of financial systems.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must have experience directly related to processing Accounts Payable in a high-volume business environment .
- Previous experience using Microsoft Dynamics 365 is an asset.
- Detailed understanding and enforcement of the Procure to Pay process and associated policies and procedures.
- Must be highly detail-oriented and have the capability to routinely perform repetitive tasks with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency.
- Strong written, verbal and oral communication skills with ability to interact and resolve questions effectively with staff at all levels, including external contacts.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills with ability to identify anomalies in data, and provide pragmatic solutions quickly and effectively.
- Proven research and reconciliation skills by exercising independent judgment to resolve Accounts Payable related issues.
