Senior Service Engineer – Propulsion Systems

Location: Netherlands with frequent travel Worldwide

Are you ready to be part of this transformation? We are looking for a Senior Service Engineer to strengthen our global team. In this role, you’ll be at the forefront of technical innovation, troubleshooting complex propulsion systems, and delivering exceptional service worldwide.

 

Your Impact & Responsibilities

As a Senior Service Engineer, you will:

  • Provide hands-on technical expertise and troubleshooting for ship propulsion systems, with a focus on electronics and controls.
  • Perform inspections, adjustments, fine-tuning, and repairs to ensure optimal performance of propulsion systems, including Controllable Pitch Propellers, Gearboxes, Water Jets, and Thrusters.
  • Lead and execute complex repairs, overhauls, installations, and commissioning activities both independently and with teams.
  • Act as a technical expert, supporting customers and engineers in the field and ensuring smooth service execution.
  • Work closely with service coordinators and clients, taking ownership of final reporting and technical documentation.
  • Travel extensively worldwide (approximately 170 days per year) to deliver expert service on-site.

 

What You Bring to the Team

  • Strong technical knowledge and experience with propulsion systems, electronics, and controls.
  • A background in marine engineering or a related technical field.
  • The ability to work independently and lead teams during complex service operations.
  • Excellent communication skills in English (Dutch is a plus).
  • A customer-focused, problem-solving mindset with a commitment to quality and safety.
  • A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel extensively.
