The Environmental Officer (EO) at the wind farm will be responsible for overseeing the daily implementation of the EMPr, EA, licenses, and compiling regular monitoring reports, typically on a weekly basis.Job Description
Key Responsibilities
Ensure that the contents of the EMPr are communicated to the Contractor’s site staff and that the Site Manager and Contractors are constantly made aware of the contents through ongoing discussion.
Ensure that the compliance of the EMPr, EA, and the legislation is monitored through regular and comprehensive inspection of the site and surrounding areas.
Ensure that the Construction Manager has input into the review and acceptance of construction methods and method statements or site-specific plans.
Detecting and reporting any relevant events in environmental matters to the Construction Manager, site HSE Manager and Central QSES Manager and to the Project Management.
Revising and agreeing the training to be given in environmental matters to the site workers with the Environmental Managers and Environmental Officer(s) of each contractor.
Ensure that if the EMPr, EA and/or the legislation conditions, regulations or specifications are not followed then appropriate measures are undertaken to address any non-compliances.
Ensure that any non-compliance or remedial measures that need to be applied are reported.
Keep records of all activities on site, problems identified, transgressions noted, and a task schedule of tasks undertaken by the ECO.
Managing the day-to-day on-site implementation of this EMPr, and for the compilation of regular (usually weekly) Monitoring Reports. In addition, the EO must act as liaison and advisor on all environmental and related issues and ensure that any complaints received from the public are duly recorded and forwarded to the Site Manager and Contractor.
Compiling on monthly basis Construction Metric using Enablon tool and preparing the periodic reports and the project final environmental report
Understand the hierarchy of Environmental Compliance Reporting, and the implications of Non-Compliance.
Giving talks on environmental matters to the ACCIONA Energía personnel entering the site temporarily or permanently as well as to people unrelated to contractors and ACCIONA Energía who visit the site for defined purposes.
Required Skills and Competencies
Minimum Qualifications
Degree in the Environmental field, Honours Degree in Environmental Science, Geography, or related environmental field.
Minimum Experience Required
Minimum 5 years relevant experience in environmental roles.
Minimum 5 years experience in the Renewable Energy sector.
Experience using APMS SharePoint, Microsoft Office, excel data-based treatment shall be a plus.
