As an Inbound Team Leader, the role will be responsible for managing the receiving and picking operations within the warehouse. This role oversees the timely and accurate receipt of products and the picking of orders. This role involves maintaining inventory control, supervising a team of receiving and picking personnel, and ensuring the picking and receiving processes are fully adhered to.
Inbound Team Leader responsibilities are:
Process Management
Overseeing and management of receiving process in accordance with Inbound Service Level Agreement (SLA). Weekly and Monthly performance report to be provided.
Implement quality control measures to identify any damaged or defective items and coordinate with suppliers for returns or replacements.
Visual inventory management is to be encouraged and enforced.
Inbound ageing report to be actively managed. Open orders to be investigated and reported on. All orders to be closed within the same day, unless relevant supporting motivation is provided by relevant department with clear ETA’s. Daily, Weekly and Monthly performance report to be provided to Warehouse Manager.
Discrepancies should be recorded and signed off by the receiving Supervisor. Daily, Weekly and Monthly performance report to be provided to Warehouse Manager.
Quality Control
Establish schedules to monitor and enforce FIFO (First-In, First-Out) and FEFO (First-Expired, First-Out) principles.
Damage reporting to be done in accordance with company policy/SOP.
Packaging
Daily spot check to be made as to confirm that the correct packaging and labelling practices are being done.
Supplier audits on stacking pattern conformance.
Ensure that team is utilising the packaging in an efficient manner as to promote good customer experience, reduce damages and being cost effective.
Packaging to be ordered and SOH not to exceed that on which was agreed to. There should always be enough stock to operate, even in times of sale spikesManage and control all aspects of warehouse inventory. Weekly and Monthly performance report to be provided.

Monthly 1-2-1’s should also include performance reviews.
Continuous Improvement
Identify one operational change that would enhance/benefit Supply Chain. The aim is to enhance overall customer experience.
Time and motion study to be done with assistance of Inventory Teams and own department. This is to be used to measure impact of performance improvement
Housekeeping
Floor and workstations are to be kept neat, clean, and tidy all the time.
All stock should be kept within their agreed storage areas. Inventory found outside of a location must be allocated to the correct location, make use of the SOH with inventory detail as to determine where the stock need to go. Before physically moving it to the location, inform the inventory controller of your action and obtain approval from them.
Establish and review allocated intermediatory storage locations as to promote increased inventory accuracy.
Verify that all equipment is in a working condition and daily inspections are being done. Should servicing or repairs be required, obtain quotes as to present for approval.
Identifying workplace safety hazards and ensuring that the area is being kept in a manner to promote a culture of Health and Safety.
Inbound Manager requirements are:
Matric/NQF4 essential
A tertiary qualification in Supply Chain/Logisitics or similar qualification is an advantage
4+ years' warehousing experience, of which a minimum of 2 yrs has been in a supervisory capacity
4+ years administration experience
Be able to cope under high level of pressure & fast-moving environment.
Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to lift and move heavy materials when necessary.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Familiarity with inventory management software and tools.
Monitoring/Assessing performance of yourself, other individuals, or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action.
Quality Control Analysis - Conducting inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance.
Intermediate IT skills, including experience with databases, e.g. MS Office and Netsuite
