Then this opportunity might be for you: The Business & Corporate Development Team at NIO USA is responsible for the strategy, planning and execution of NIO’s Go-To-Market for the Americas.  This is a strategic corporate initiative, sponsored by the CEO & CFO, and comes with high visibility and tall expectations!  NIO’s Go-To-Market Approach has an intense focus on an elevated user experience. The elevated user experience derives from being available with the right products at the right time at the right place, to fit our users’ needs.  Partnerships are critical for enabling such availability and ensuring the elevated user experience.
As the Mobility Partnerships, Sr. Manager, you will be responsible for developing and managing a key category of NIO’s partnerships.  You will own the identification, engagement, outreach and collaboration with top participants in the category, and ensure that developed partnerships service the target operational and business goals established by NIO. 
This position reports to the VP, Business and Corporate Development at our San Jose, CA office. 

Responsibilities

  • Build, from the ground up, a key category of NIO’s mobility partnerships. 
  • Develop a clear picture of the category landscape, and a prioritized point of view on partnership opportunities. 
  • Collaborate closely with appropriate NIO experience managers to distill the user experience requirements that the partnership category must support and service.
  • Collaborate closely with appropriate NIO infrastructure build-out leaders, to distill the operating requirements that the partnership category must support and service.
  • Build, as applicable, based on historically available data, a calendar of anticipated partnership RFPs.
  • Build and drive the partnership pipeline - all the way from initial outreach, to final negotiated partnership agreements. 
  • Work closely and efficiently with cross-functional leaders to refine and execute partnership strategy across business lines
  • For all assigned responsibilities, own the outcome: Evangelize, lead, collaborate, motivate, persuade - internally and externally, and deliver exceptional outcomes backed by world-class work-product!

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience partnership development in Ride-Hail, Rental Car or Car-share at major airport locations.
  • Exhibited proficiency initiating, developing and managing partnership pipelines – from initial outreach to executed agreement.
  • Exhibited proficiency in studying and creating compelling responses to RFPs.
  • Exhibited proficiency in identifying influenceable (non-rigid) partnership terms and parameters, and working with product and legal teams to negotiate advantageous terms or exceptions. 
  • Deep familiarity with airport requirements and permissions for mobility operators, and ability to influence partner to operate in compliance. Long-standing or active relationships with major airport authorities and decision makers preferred.
  • Eagerness to learn, discover, collaborate, imagine and build new approaches, quickly.
  • Startup attitude - high motivation and willingness to take on a big challenge with potential for significant impact. 
  • Self-starter -  must be comfortable with ambiguity and thrive in a rapidly evolving environment
  • Bias towards action, and willingness to roll up sleeves and “solve” forward. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, or equivalent.
