Redwood Materials was founded in 2017 to create a circular supply chain for electric vehicles and clean energy products, making them more sustainable and driving down the cost for batteries. We’re doing this by developing and deploying new technologies to increase the scope and scale of recycled and sustainable materials in the global battery supply chain.
Electrical Technician
Redwood Materials is looking for an Electrical Technician IV to act as the technical lead in our Industrial Control Cabinet Fabrication shop to support the Controls and Manufacturing Engineering teams with the development, installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and improvement of manufacturing processes and equipment. A level IV technician will be responsible for managing build and delivery schedules, leading daily activities, reviewing BOMs and Schematics, and training other technicians.
Responsibilities Will Include:
- Fabricate custom industrial control panels
- Reviewing and redlining electrical schematics and layouts
- Providing estimates on time & material budgets for new builds and upgrades.
- Troubleshoot and solve process and equipment issues
- Support the onboarding and training of entry level technicians
- Manage the daily tasks of the other technicians in the shop
- Provide feedback to the design team on drafting quality, design optimization, and more.
- As business demands change, additional essential responsibilities may be assigned
Desired Qualifications:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
- Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel and Outlook)
- Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
- Strong electrical aptitude with a background in industrial equipment/processes
- Knowledge of UL508a requirements
- Knowledge of NEC and NFPA 79
- Experience with stud welding, and other light welding work
- Ability to do mechanical layout work with great precision
- Experience with metal cutting and other fabrication processes relevant to control cabinets
- Experience with wiring 480V power systems
- Experience wiring complex low voltage controls and instrumentation.

- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.

Working Conditions:
- Electrical Technicians will work in a fabrication shop.
- Electrical Technicians will work with electrical hazards, and loud noise associated with cutting and drilling steel enclosures.
- Technicians will be required to regularly handle heavy loads, including hoisting and forklifting equipment, and climbing on up to 8-ft ladders to work on the tops of systems.
- An Electrical Technician IV may be expected to travel several times per year to take part in system commissioning and troubleshooting, as well as acceptance testing activities.
The position is full-time. Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
