We are looking for a Sr. Engineer, Automotive E/E System Integration, 3rd party devices. In this role you will work with device owners and suppliers to facilitate the electrical and software integration of these devices in the vehicle. The Role:
· Work with stakeholders to break down features, requirements, and develop specifications for 3rd party components
· Work with suppliers to define and create Device Transmittals
· Support the definition of communication interfaces for 3rd party components
· Work with technicians and factory team members to support product development and integration
· Work with systems integration engineers to support product development and integration
· Ensure alignment of scope, implementation and delivery timing for software updates and releases into the vehicle systems in collaboration with technical program management, device owners, suppliers and release management.
· Conduct integration tests for these devices and triage issues as required
· Conduct integration tests for these devices in the subsystem and system environments
· Recreate and debug issues at a component and system level
· Review test plans, test results, and help triage and root cause issues
· Assess change impacts and involve appropriate stakeholders
· Support change request processes
· Facilitate high quality electrical and software design and report on part maturity progress
· Perform limited component level testing upon part receival
· Find and support the repair of process gaps
· Travel to support integration activities as needed
Basic Qualifications:
· Great communication skills
· Experience interfacing with suppliers
· Motivation to make complicated systems work together
· Fundamental understanding of circuit design, ECU communication, mechanical systems, and sensors
· Experience with engineering tools such as Vector CANoe or similar
· Experience with failure analysis methodology like FMEA and fault trees
· Experience with standard EE lab instruments (oscilloscope, multimeters, data bus analysis tools, ...) and understanding of wiring schematics
· Ability to manage multiple devices and prioritize
· Creativity in your design
· Motivation to make a difference in the automotive industry
· Ability to build stuff with your hands
Educational Requirements:
· B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering
