Position Specific Description


This internship offers a unique opportunity to obtain hands on experience in financial planning & analysis within the energy industry.  The NextEra Analytics Finance intern will assist in various financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and reporting.  Interns will gain valuable insights into the financial operations of the leading renewable energy organization. NextEra is a utility leader in SAP (ERP Financial System) utilization. Interns will learn hand on valuable SAP ERP utilization and development skills.

 

 Job Overview:

Interns in this position will support a wide range of financial planning & analysis activities which include forecasting, budgeting, reporting, and financial analysis.  Interns will work closely supporting various support and operational business units across the enterprise.  In addition, interns will gain experience in our SAP BW Financial system.

 

 

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Support executing monthly financial reporting deliverables

  • Support monthly financial forecasting and strategic enterprise planning

  • Support financial variance analysis

  • Learn and support financial system developments and automations

  • Support providing valuable financial insights to key enterprise stakeholders for informed decision making

 

Requirements

  • Minimum, unweighted GPA – 3.0

  • Cover letter to accompany resume – Letter must describe candidate’s leadership (wind project, current job, sports team, etc.) and the letter must explain why the student wants the job and what they hope to gain from the job

  • Letter of recommendation from someone other than a finance academy teacher

  • Ability to work between 30-35 hours per week over summer

  • Must be a junior entering their senior year

 

Additional nice to have attributes:

  • Ability to work 10-15 hours per week during the school year through Senior year graduation

  • Differentiating attribute (to be determined during interview process):

  • Professed pursuit of a business degree – preferably finance, accounting, tax, MBA
