Engineering Materials Specialist – Metals
The Opportunity

How You'll Make an Impact
- Support the Supply Chain in developing new suppliers and identifying cost reduction opportunities.
- Analyze material properties and their impact on product performance.
- Compare material properties using datasheets to identify optimal options.
- Ensure materials meet environmental and performance standards.
- Develop and execute test plans to validate material properties.
- Collaborate with laboratories to ensure accurate test results.
- Evaluate test results and make informed decisions on material qualification.
- Drive the standardization of parts and materials to improve efficiency.
Your Background
- Bachelor's or master’s degree in Materials Science & Engineering, Metallurgical Science, or related field with 5+ years of industry experience. A PhD with 2+ years of relevant experience is also considered.
- Work authorization to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
- Familiarity with material characterization techniques and manufacturing processes.
- Experience in Production, Quality Assurance, and Supplier development in the Metal industry.
- Knowledge of material standards (ASTM, ASME, etc.) and experience with AutoCAD, Creo, Microsoft Office, SharePoint, Windchill, SAP.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
