Description

Reusable launch systems are the key to seamlessly connecting Earth and space. We are seeking a skilled and motivated Accounting Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and finance, and a passion for driving financial excellence in compliance with US GAAP and company policies. This role will be pivotal in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting while supporting the growth and development of the finance and accounting team.

Responsibilities

  • Execute month-end close and reconciliation processes to ensure timely, accurate financial data in compliance with US GAAP and company accounting policies
  • Design and maintain internal controls over financial reporting to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity of financial information
  • Develop and uphold accounting policies and procedures that align with best practices and regulatory requirements
  • Manage and oversee accounting operations, including accounts payable, payroll, billings/receivables, revenue recognition, lease accounting, inventory and fixed asset accounting
  • Manage supplier and customer onboarding processes
  • Understand and implement government rate structures based on Federal Acquisition Regulations
  • Oversee accounting and reporting of government contract costs and revenues
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local sales tax filings
  • Lead the development, recruitment, mentoring, and training of team members to enhance skills and performance
  • Collaborate with external auditors to facilitate audits and ensure compliance with financial regulations
  • Support the finance team in developing accurate financial forecasts and analysis of budget vs. actual variances
  • Partner with and provide excellent service to other internal teams/departments to save them time and energy
  • Maintain existing financial systems and implement new financial systems as the company scales
  • Proactively identify areas for process improvement and implement changes as appropriate

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional accounting experience and a bachelor鈥檚 degree in accounting or an equivalent combination of education and experience. CPA preferred
  • Extensive knowledge of US GAAP and a strong understanding of internal controls
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information clearly to various stakeholders
  • Self-starter with demonstrated history of ownership and accountability
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a capacity to identify issues and implement effective solutions
  • Team player with exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proven ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience with revenue recognition and inventory cost accounting
  • Experience in maintaining and implementing an ERP system highly desirable

Compensation

Target Levels:

  • Level 3 Range: $91,200 - $136,800

Your actual level and base salary will be decided based on your specific experience and skill level.
