Today, rocket launch options are slow, expensive, and unreliable. Stoke is building the world鈥檚 most efficient fully and rapidly reusable rocket designed to fly daily that will radically increase access to space and open up the space economy to safeguard our precious home, Earth.  

Description

As a System Architect, you will be responsible for developing the vision, analyzing performance, generating requirements, and estimating the schedule and budget of your products. You will work closely with business development in customer discovery, solution ideation, and proposal creation and follow through with program execution through development, manufacture, and test. As part of a small, well-supported team, you will have access to the resources you need to get the job done right while simultaneously boosting your skills at a pace that can鈥檛 be matched in most other roles. You must be ready to stay focused, move fast, self-direct, and learn on the fly.

Responsibilities

  • Support Business Development activities such as customer discovery, solution ideation, and proposal writing
  • Listen to customer input and develop system architecture and functional capabilities which meet the customer objectives
  • Lead architecture trades for major systems, rapidly transform these decisions into real-life hardware implementations
  • Develop system concept of operations, including phases of ground, flight, and recovery
  • Define system requirements to meet functional capabilities, define product breakdown, and decompose requirements to lower-level products

Qualifications

  • Bachelor鈥檚 or advanced degree in aerospace, mechanical, or electrical engineering, or similar
  • 3 years minimum experience in a related role preferred
  • Demonstrated experience working on one or more development projects through the full lifecycle, from concept through operations, on an aerospace or similar high-performance product
  • Proficiency working with interdisciplinary technical teams, including mechanical, electrical, and software engineers
  • Exceptional command of engineering fundamentals, including orbital dynamics, rocket and/or spacecraft design, fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, structures, command and control systems, and systems integration workflows
  • Extensive experience with CAD tools and configuration management (Siemens NX and Teamcenter preferred)
  • Proficiency with fluid analysis tools (Siemens AMESim, Thermal Desktop, Python, EES, REFPROP, Excel, Matlab, or equivalent)
  • Proficiency in GD&T, tolerance stackups, and material selection
  • Hands on experience performing fabrication and assembly of components
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Willing to relocate to Seattle, WA

Compensation

Target Levels:

  • Level 2 range: $104,500 - $141,400
  • Level 3 range: $123,000 - $184,000
  • Level 4 range: $144,100 - $240,100

Your actual level and base salary will be decided based on your specific experience and skill level.
