The base salary range for this position is dependent upon experience and location, ranging from: $114,332 - $142,916
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced IT professional with a strong background in Wintel and Linux infrastructure, who specializes in automation using PowerShell, Batch, and SCCM. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the stability, reliability, and efficiency of our IT systems through advanced automation techniques. This role requires a deep understanding of infrastructure management and the ability to leverage automation tools to streamline operations and enhance performance.
Responsibilities
Develops and implements operational monitoring tools and procedures of infrastructure platforms for performance and adherence to Avangrid’s IUSA defined availability metrics.
Define operational programs, identify opportunities for improving efficiency and reliability, and provide recommendations as needed to meet anticipated demands.
Reviews, recommends, and directs the installation and maintenance of third-party software packages and infrastructure patch levels on all system and management platforms, ensuring stability and compliance.
Lead technical support for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of Wintel/Linux platforms for daily production requirements and project development, while overseeing lifecycle management, strategic planning, and operational activities for both physical and virtual server infrastructure, including Hyper-V and Nutanix.
Collaborate with vendors on server software installation and support, while managing relationships with outsourced vendors and coordinating the execution of design and process plans to ensure all aspects of the architecture are executed to plan. Technical coordination and management of infrastructure outsourced services.
Plan and assign resources to application projects in alignment with the infrastructure project pipeline, ensuring the enterprise can support new technology and maintain high levels of service while creating a sustainable IT environment that facilitates growth and maintains required regulatory compliance and end-user requirements.
Mitigate risks identified in vulnerability assessments, demonstrating experience in project and team leadership roles, with a strong history of managing complex efforts involving demanding customers.
Skills & Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field with a minimum of 5 years of IT infrastructure experience OR Associate's Degree with a minimum of 7 years of IT infrastructure experience OR High School Diploma/GED equivalent with a minimum of 10 years of IT infrastructure experience.
Extensive experience with infrastructure platforms, including one or more of the following technology pillars: Wintel/Linux servers, networking, network security, SAN storage, and network operations.
Extensive knowledge of scripting languages like PowerShell.
Experience with Ansible Tower, Python, & Bash is a plus.
Expertise in ServiceNow, including extensive experience with its API functionality for integration and automation purposes.
Extensive expertise in managing and utilizing SCCM (System Center Configuration Manager) and Red Hat Satellite for system management and automation is a plus.
Experience with Hypervisors, including Hyper-V and Nutanix.
Experience with Dell OME is a plus.
Cloud experience with AWS and Azure is a plus.
Ability to organize, prioritize, and coordinate multiple work activities to meet target deadlines, while effectively communicating with and influencing both technical and non-technical customers, colleagues, and vendors.
Proven track record in conducting root cause analysis for Wintel/Linux server infrastructure.
