Xylem's Field Service Engineer: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field will apply advanced technical expertise to solve complex engineering problems across various projects related to Startup and Commissioning activities.

Your role is critical in analyzing design documentation, optimizing processes, and developing innovative solutions that enhance product performance and efficiency. With a strong grasp of engineering principles and a focus on precision, you will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure that engineering standards are met and projects are executed flawlessly. Also, have an understanding of Startup and Commissioning management tasks and communication between internal project teams and vendor support coordination.


Project Management:

  • Coordinate with contractors and subcontractors during construction and installation phases
  • Monitor project progress and ensure compliance with design specifications and safety standards
  • Communicate with project team and stakeholders to provide updates and address any concerns
  • Manage project apportionments and resources effectively to ensure timely completion


Technical Expertise:

  • Possess knowledge of hydraulic theory and principles
  • Prepare/Draft Startup and Commissioning Plan documentation and coordinate with Applications/Process Engineers to facilitate the startup of water treatment systems
  • Comprehension and ability to work with Startup & Commissioning (S & C) Schedules

Qualifications:

  • Must have bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field with at least 5-7 years experience
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.

Additionally:

  • A minimum of 5-7 years of relevant, demonstrated experience is required, preferably in the water treatment industry.
  • Have the skills to work on various low voltage systems and is qualified to work on these systems both cold and hot, 24 VDC, 120 VAC, 220 VAC, 208/277 VAC, 480 VAC.
  • The ability to ring out panel wiring if required or needed.
  • Require the ability to calculate required chemical concentrations, chemical injection rates, dilution rates, etc.
  • Require understanding unit technology theory of operations as well as the pros and cons of each technology
  • The ability to tune and identify the proper tuning strategy for PID loops, up to including stager control
  • Require understanding process chemistry and how it affects the overall quality and quantity generation
  • Troubleshooting skills for electrical, controls, mechanical and process chemistry.
  • The ability to connect to customer PLC’s and HMI’s and make minor changes
  • Requires valid driver’s license and a good driving record
  • Must have the ability to travel to both domestic and international sites
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 70 lbs.
  • May require the ability to twist, turn, push and pull (up to 75 lbs.)
  • Climb in and out of a vehicle repetitively, kneel, climb ladders, stand, sit, walk, lift and reach;
  • Have good customer communication skills
  • Prepare and submit reports covering all on-site/system(s) activity.
  • Require reading and understand schematics, P&ID’s and other related drawings to the  equipment and process.
  • Prepare or review process documentation or operations manuals.  
  • Require the ability to set-up, configure and calibrate metrology
  • Understanding and completed the training and maintain the training for Hazardous Energies, Working with Electricity, Fall Protection, Working with Hazardous Chemicals, Chemical Hygiene, Chemical Cleanup, Blood Borne Pathogens, and all other training required to safely execute the job description of a field engineer.
