ABOUT THE ROLE:

We have an exciting opportunity for a driven content marketing associate to join the marketing team at Sofar. You will own all content initiatives including strategy and execution. This role will be instrumental in elevating Sofar’s thought leadership in the industry and managing our social presence.  You will excel in an “all hands on deck” environment, solve strategic business challenges, and thrive in a startup culture. As a founding member of Sofar’s marketing team, this is a great opportunity to grow with a fast-growing startup. You will report to the Head of Marketing.

What you will do:

  • Own thought leadership across academic, technical, corporate, and social audiences in company, recruitment, and founder brand messaging
  • Develop and execute a targeted social engagement strategy to build organic presence on Linkedin, Twitter, and Instagram
  • Have a passion for social media audience building: write, edit and publish all social media content
  • Manage editorial content calendar and schedule content on social channels
  • Write and edit blog content, and build it on the web using a CMS
  • Curate content across web and social for newsletters
  • Track campaign progress, present performance metrics, and readily experiment with outbound strategies on all platforms
  • Serve as community manager by proactively engaging with followers and other like-minded brands/organizations
  • Conduct research on thought leaders, influencers, press, and the media landscape at large
  • Manage all founder-led and exec brand building efforts

We're excited about you because you:

  • Are a marketer with 2-4 years of writing, social media, and content marketing experience
  • Have great communication skills - especially written 
  • Have a keen interest in science, especially climate and ocean science
  • Are passionate about building awareness
  • Have awesome creative copywriting skills
  • Are experienced or have an interest in creating inclusive, culturally aware marketing campaigns 
  • Have a desire to innovate and stay on top of new trends in social media
  • Have the ability to work efficiently with attention to detail across multiple work-streams
