About the role:

As Upstream Bioprocess Research Associate you will use your experience with mammalian cell culture and upstream processes to support cell culture experiments, from flasks to bench-top bioreactors, to maximize cell growth and achieve process efficiency. You will report to the Bioprocess Upstream Lead, and collaborate with our bioprocess development, tissue engineering, and pilot manufacturing teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist process development studies to establish scalable, high-yield, stage appropriate cell culture processes for small scale flasks to bench-top bioreactors operations of mammalian cell lines
  • Help improve upstream processes by performing experiments that analyze process parameters such as seeding density, culture growth, and gassing strategy in bioreactor stages
  • Support technology transfer of the upstream process to manufacturing
  • Work with colleagues to report experiment outcomes by performing calculations, running data analysis, and preparing presentations
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures(SOPs) and follow all safety and company policies.
  • Maintain laboratory notebooks, SOPs, and batch records.
  • Work with vendors to source materials, equipment, and services.

Technical Qualifications & Skills:

  • Experience with adherent or suspension mammalian cell culture
  • Knowledge of upstream bioprocess stages from small scale to pilot manufacturing
  • Familiarity with bioreactor technology

Compensation:

  • $70,000-75,000 annually
