Remora is hiring a Director of Supply Chain and Manufacturing who will be responsible for supply chain, manufacturing, and assembly across multiple teams, optimizing for quality, cost, and speed. As a member of the executive team, the Director of Supply Chain and Manufacturing will work closely with the co-CEOs to lead the company and set our strategic direction, all while helping to tackle the defining challenge of our time.
Responsibilities:
Supply Chain
Build and manage relationships with all suppliers
Track lead times and check in regularly with suppliers
Anticipate and solve supply chain issues
Track inventory and order all components and materials
Manufacturing
Build and manage relationships with our contract manufacturers
Ensure that existing orders are built and delivered on time
Reserve future manufacturing capacity and work with contract manufacturers to understand their capacity over time
Assembly
Build and manage team assembling the devices
Design and implement Remora assembly lines
Quality
Conduct testing to ensure quality for third-party and in-house components
Track down root causes of any quality issues
Develop and implement quality assurance standards
Strategy
Help executive team understand and anticipate supply chain bottlenecks
Evaluate in-house vs. contract manufacturing for each component
Evaluate different contract manufacturers and different manufacturing locations
Requirements:
10+ years of manufacturing or supply chain experience OR relevant advanced degree and 8+ years of relevant work experience
4+ years of management experience with a team of 10+ people
Extensive knowledge of manufacturing processes
Demonstrated leadership and project management skills
Ability to build and manage a large team as the company grows
Creative, outside-the-box thinker with lots of new ideas
