Job Description
Fuse Energy is at the forefront of the energy transition, as a vertically integrated renewable energy supplier. We are looking for a highly skilled Grant Consultant to secure and manage grant funding opportunities that support Fuse Energy’s ambitious growth. This role is pivotal in securing £100M in grant funding within the first year alone, targeting UK, EU, and global funding programs in areas such as R&D, renewable energy development, and government procurement financing.
Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will develop and execute a comprehensive grant acquisition strategy, collaborating cross-functionally with internal teams and representing Fuse Energy to government bodies worldwide.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement a strategic grant acquisition plan, focusing on high-value funding opportunities while taking full ownership of the entire grant lifecycle, from identification to successful execution.
- Identify and evaluate UK, EU, and international grant opportunities aligned with Fuse’s goals. These will consist of R&D grants, renewable energy development grants, and government procurement financing.
- Write compelling, high-quality grant proposals, collaborating with teams across finance, R&D, legal, and operations to align funding applications with business goals. Full immersion in Fuse Energy’s business will be a requirement.
- Serve as the primary liaison between Fuse Energy and funding agencies, representing Fuse Energy to government bodies globally to the highest standard. Proactively engage with governments to identify opportunities of working together on energy-related projects.
- Provide guidance and training to internal teams on best practices in grant writing and funding applications.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field (advanced degree or professional qualifications such as ACA, CA, or CFA are a plus).
- 2+ years of experience in grant writing, proposal development, and grant management.
- Proven track record of securing grants in the renewable energy or infrastructure sectors.
- Experience working with government agencies and funding bodies at UK, EU, or international levels.
- Technical proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with SQL is highly desirable.
- Exceptional communication and writing skills, with a keen eye for detail.
