About the Role
Eavor Technologies is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Communications Specialist to join our Corporate Affairs team. This role is pivotal in driving the implementation of our global communications strategy. The Communications Specialist will collaborate with an international team and work cross-functionally with internal and external stakeholders to maintain our communication portfolio and support Eavor’s mission to revolutionize geothermal energy with the world’s first closed-loop geothermal system. This hybrid role is based in Calgary, Alberta.
Some of What You Will Do:
- Support the implementation of a global strategic communications and marketing strategy.
- Identify communications opportunities aligned with the company’s strategic objectives.
- Collaborate closely with the internal Corporate Affairs team and subcontractors on all communications initiatives.
- Prepare content for press releases, newsletters, website, and social media.
- Develop and post approved content on social media, website, and other communication channels.
- Write, edit, and proofread communication materials, including press releases, articles, case studies, speeches, and presentations.
- Manage shared company mailboxes and incoming press requests.
- Ensure that all communications are accurate, on-brand, and aligned with industry regulations and best practices.
- Coordinate and organize participation at exhibitions, conferences, and events.
- Manage the development of focused outreach materials for various communications channels, in collaboration with the business development team, technical engineering team, and operational subsidiary.
- Maintain the company’s brand guidelines and process documentation.
- Implement processes for monitoring media presence and press coverage, as well as tracking web traffic.
- Travel may be required (less than 15%).
Some of What You Will Need:
- Bachelor’s degree in communication, public affairs, media studies, marketing, or equivalent.
- Minimum 5-10 years of professional experience in communications and marketing, including content creation.
- Energy industry experience is preferred, with knowledge of drilling and geothermal terminology.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and verbal communication skills with expertise in preparing a wide variety of outreach materials for different audiences.
- Sample work may be requested.
- Proactive work ethic and critical thinking skills.
- Confident demeanor when dealing with stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
- Proven experience establishing and maintaining relationships with individuals at all levels of the organization and with external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience in executing marketing and communications strategies on a global scale.
- Proficiency in using communication tools, social media platforms, and analytics software.
- Ability to travel infrequently.
- SEO experience would be considered an asset.
- Government relations experience would be considered an asset.
- Experience in crisis communication and issue management is a plus.
