Job Description
The position is to lead the application engineering activities to support the e-product business development. The main responsibilities include customer interface to gather technical requirements, select the right product from BW e-product line for each application, coordinate internal activities of matching, prototyping, validation and release, etc., and solving the engineering issues during the product application development stage.
Principal Accountabilities / Responsibilities
- Interface with customers in Japan for applications of existing ETTS e-products.
- Capture new product/process know-how to support new segment investigations
- Interface frequently as well with relevant Borgwarner Global Tech Centers and Plants
- Analyse or sometimes define product specification, as well as technical requirements, based on customer input.
- Lead DVP&R communication to OEMs with support from other functional areas (validation and release, quality, manufacturing).
- Support D-FMEA based on the requirements from the customer.
- Provide support to engineering issues (Product development, Field, 0km claims, Experimental services) from both suppliers and customers by using systematic problem-solving skills.

Requirements / Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or above in engine or motors component, thermals and fluid kinetics, mechanical engineering or electrical engineering.
- Minimum 3 years working experience in automotive, engine or motor technology development or application.
- Good organizational skills including the ability to prioritize, handle multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
- Experience in procedures and workflow cycles of automotive industry is desired.
- Knowledge of the current quality specifications (IATF16949)
- Proficient with MS Office and SAP R/3.
- Professional verbal and written English & essential Japanese language communication skills.
