This position plays a critical role in the County's efforts to implement the All-in Clark County Sustainability and Climate Action Plan. The Principal Environmental Specialist will manage and implement climate and sustainability projects, identify and coordinate funding efforts and supervise Environmental Specialists. This position will also provide highly responsible technical and administrative support to the Climate and Sustainability Program Manager. This examination will establish an Open Competitive Eligibility list to fill current and/or future vacancies that may occur within the next six (6) months or may be extended as needed by Human Resources. Human Resources reserves the right to call only the most qualified applicants to the selection process.<h2>MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS</h2>Education and Experience: Master's Degree with major course work in Business or Public Administration, Environmental Science, Political Science, Planning, or a related field, AND two (2) years of full-time professional experience in performing administrative, budgetary, operational, environmental and natural resource management, land management, or similar analyses or studies. Experience in a public agency setting and project or programmatic supervisory experience are desirable. A Bachelor's Degree and two (2) years of additional related experience may be substituted for a Master's Degree. All qualifying education and each experience must be clearly documented in the “Education” and “Work Experience” sections of the application.
