Position Summary: 
The Regional Environmental Manager will provide technical support and leadership of the Environmental team, services and operations in the Mid-Atlantic region.  This position will also expand the Environmental services footprint across the region, while developing new client and business opportunities while maintaining and building current relationships.   
 


Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage regional Environmental Department and service lines
  • Environmental business development, networking and marketing
  • Survey marketplace to identify new clients and new markets for Environmental services
  • Plan Regional Environmental strategy in conjunction with Regional Executives to meet Company goals
  • Project a positive image of the Company and colleagues at client negotiations, conferences, technical meetings and within regional offices
  • Conducts site meetings, site estimates, and project recommendations for prospective and current clients
  • Provide senior technical oversight and expertise on complex proposals and projects
  • Generate reports, recommendations and other documentation needed by clients, including engineering and design
  • Create, prepare and update project proposals and technical reports in a timely manner
  • Deal directly with clients and prospective clients in business development, proposals, contractors or agreements, and technical matters
  • Mentor and grow Environmental team members’ environmental testing, knowledge base and capabilities
  • Sign letters, proposals and reports bearing professional stamp (if applicable) and assumes responsibility in the name of the Company
  • Responsible for the regional Environmental branch locations including costs, adherence to budgets, utilization goals and profitability of Environmental projects within the region
  • Review, update and approve invoices weekly for on-going projects
  • Responsible for Regional Environmental P&L including profitability, costs and adherence to budgets and target utilization goals
  • Oversee and manage Environmental staff; visit Environmental projects on-site
  • Maintain excellent communication both verbally and electronically with Regional Executives, senior management, project managers, field staff and colleagues
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality and integrity
  • Follow all Company safety procedures and policies
  • Other tasks as assigned

Qualifications:

  • 4-year Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology, Civil Engineering, or related field
  • Active Professional Engineering (PE) or Professional Geologist (PG) license in NC, SC, VA, MD and/or ability to obtain additional state licenses upon hire/as needed
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in environmental consulting/testing, brownfields redevelopment, asbestos testing, Phase I/II site assessments, underground storage tanks (UST) location and removal, soil and groundwater testing, erosion and sediment control inspection, led, radon and mold testing and remediation
  • Valid Driver’s License with acceptable driving record
  • Proven track record of business development and revenue growth in environmental services
  • Strong knowledge of state and federal environmental regulations including brownfields programs
  • OSHA 10/30-hour and relevant environmental certifications

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to read, comprehend and write technical reports, proposals, business correspondence and/or procedure manuals as needed
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Suite and other engineering design software
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to use technology/computer

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:

  • Days and hours for this position are typically Monday-Friday
  • Some weekend, overtime work and/or overnight work may be required
  • Regular travel throughout the Mid-Atlantic region
  • Typically, this position involves 70% conducting Environmental business development, 30% oversight of work
  • Ability to use your senses to see (including close, distant and peripheral vision, depth vision and ability to focus), smell, hear and touch (use your hands to reach, climb or balance, crouch, stoop, crawl, kneel and sit)
  • Ability to lift/move up to 50lbs.
