POSITION OVERVIEW

As the Manager of Nutrition Science, you will evaluate scientific research to support the Kate Farms product portfolio and provide scientific credibility to differentiate our products from competitors.  This includes identifying and evaluating new ingredients, technologies, and products for efficacy; substantiating marketing claims; and collaborating with evidence generation and clinical research as needed for projects and manuscripts

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Provide substantiation, and background support for new ingredients
  • Participate in innovation and product stage gate teams as needed
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as product development, quality assurance, supply chain, and marketing, to ensure alignment and effective execution of nutrition science initiatives.
  • Stay current with the latest research and developments in nutrition, epidemiology, and health sciences, translating this knowledge into actionable insights for the company.
  • Collaborate with Medical Education and Medical Science Liaison Director for summits, seminars, and monographs as needed
  • Support the evidence generation and clinical trial directors in conducting and analyzing clinical studies to support the efficacy and safety of our products as needed.
  • Collaborate with the Medical nutrition specialists on medical inquiries and key small projects
  • Develop and maintain a network and relationships with expert scientists, key opinion leaders, and academic institutions to foster collaboration and advance Kate Farms scientific knowledge base.
  • Provide nutrition expertise and guidance to internal and external stakeholders, including healthcare professionals, customers, and regulatory bodies.
  • Effectively manage the resources for Nutrition Science to optimize outcomes.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO

  • Has a Master’s degree in Nutrition Sciences, Dietetics, Food Science, Medical Nutrition, or a related field; PhD preferred.
  • Is a Registered Dietitian (RD) credential preferred.
  • Has 6+ years of experience in nutrition science, enteral nutrition, clinical dietetics, or a related field.
  • Has a strong understanding of plant-based nutrition and its application in medical conditions.
  • Has In-depth knowledge of nutrition science, including the ability to interpret key literature
  • Has experience translating scientific concepts for various audiences, including healthcare professionals and consumers.
  • Has excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex scientific concepts in clear and concise language.
  • Develops and articulates evidence-based perspectives on emerging nutrition trends and public health initiatives, including planetary diets, whole food versus ultra-processed food approaches, national nutrition reduction strategies, nutrition equity, social determinants of health, and "food as medicine" movements.
  • Has strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Has a passion for nutrition and a commitment to improving the health and well-being of individuals through plant-based formulas.
  • Has respect for sharing and accepting feedback from all levels of the organization.

This position will work in a home/office environment with occasional trips to the corporate office, scientific conferences, trade shows, or other locations.  Requires approximately 5% - 10% travel.

Compensation for this role is in the form of base salary plus a variable component that together comprise the On-Target-Earnings (OTE). Some positions may include additional compensation in the form of equity.

The typical starting salary range for new hires in this role is listed below. This range represents the lowest to highest salary range we reasonably and in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. Please note that base pay offered may vary depending on factors including your geographic location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.  All job offers are contingent upon successful completion of background verification.

$115,000 - $150,000 USD

For full-time salaried or hourly workers, our total rewards package also include the option to enroll in a company-matched 401k plan, as well as participate in Company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance plans for the employee and the employee’s eligible dependents.  Employees will also receive a generous  PTO benefit with a starting accrual of 15 days per year (prorated upon hire and increased by tenure),  two weeks of paid “Refresh” leave, 80 hours of paid sick leave annually, and 11 paid holidays throughout the calendar year.  Kate Farms offers a range of other benefits offered with an emphasis on employee well-being such as paid disability leave, paid parental / pregnancy leave, Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA), tuition reimbursement, an Employee Assistance Program, and more.
