Job Description
AECOM is seeking a Field Management Superintendent to be based in New York, NY. Will Operate as a Construction Manager working directly with NYC agencies on projects related to social infrastructure throughout.
Responsibilities include:
- Accountable and overall responsibility for on-site administrative and technical management for a wide range of construction projects.
- Leads, directs and manages the entire direction of construction and related activities within assigned area of responsibility, which may be a single area, multi-area or a multi-discipline construction project.
- Communicates and directs through other superintendents changes or modification of jobsite activities within assigned area of operations.
- Accountable for compliance with design/specifications, completion on schedule, within budget and to quality standards.
- Supervision and management of scope that includes removing contaminated soil, demolition of one / two story buildings, installing utilities, concrete placement, pile supported building platforms and roadway network.
- Develops and implements site-specific safety plans and ensures compliance with all relevant safety regulations and standards.
- Coordinates with subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
- Conducts regular site inspections and quality control checks to maintain high standards of workmanship.
- Prepares and maintains accurate project documentation, including daily logs, progress reports, and change orders.
- Manages and resolves on-site conflicts and issues promptly to minimize project delays.
- Participates in project meetings and provides regular updates to stakeholders on project progress, challenges, and solutions.
- Mentors and develops junior staff members to build a strong, capable team.
- Ensures compliance with local building codes, permits, and environmental regulations throughout the project lifecycle.
