Job Brief

As a People Operations Generalist, you will play an important role in ensuring our employees and managers are well-served as the company enters the next phase of growth. You will report to the People Operations Manager, and be part of the team responsible for creating new and expanding existing HR policies, procedures and practices that support our culture and values. You will have plenty of learning opportunities in a variety of people operations domains, and collaborate with colleagues across the entire people team.

What You Will Do

  • Answer employment-related inquiries from employees and managers, providing broad people operations support
  • Manage employee onboarding and offboarding administration and workflows
  • Act as the system administrator to a variety of people tools (e.g. employee wiki, HRIS, performance management)
  • Provide suggestions and support with activities that drive employee engagement, talent development and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives
  • Review and update policies and procedures to maintain compliance with with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
  • Oversee leave of absence administration and provide immigration case support 
  • Ensure that relevant personnel files, documentation, and communications are current, complete, and compliant with applicable laws
  • Actively contribute to people team projects and initiatives as needed and assigned

Who You Are

  • You have progressive work experience as an HR Specialist and/or Generalist in a technology startup environment
  • You always look for opportunities for optimization and improvement; you understand how to build things that will scale 
  • You communicate clearly, effectively and thoughtfully, across multiple verbal or written mediums (e.g. email, Slack, calls, face-to-face); you know your target audience and are adaptive in your communication
  • You have a high level of professional integrity, acting with nuance and discretion
  • You are passionate about creating equitable people practices, and believe that Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) are fundamental to the company’s success
  • You are a fast learner, motivated to expand your knowledge by learning from others as well as doing your own research
  • You thrive and enjoy working in a fast-paced and high-growth environment
