Redwood Materials was founded in 2017 to create a circular supply chain for electric vehicles and clean energy products, making them more sustainable and driving down the cost for batteries. We’re doing this by developing and deploying new technologies to increase the scope and scale of recycled and sustainable materials in the global battery supply chain.
Global Supply Manager – New Products
Essential Duties:
We are looking for a Global Supply Manager (GSM) to lead sourcing, supplier management, and strategic negotiations for critical components in Redwood’s expanding supply chain. This role will focus on securing high-quality, cost-effective, and sustainable supply sources to support our advanced battery products.
The GSM will work closely with engineering, operations, and business teams to drive supplier selection, manage supply agreements, and optimize procurement strategies. This role requires a deep understanding of global supply chain dynamics, strong analytical capabilities, and the ability to drive complex negotiations with suppliers.
Responsibilities will include:
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies for key materials and components, ensuring alignment with Redwood’s cost, quality, and sustainability goals.
- Lead supplier selection, contract negotiations, and long-term strategic partnerships with key suppliers.
- Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to align supplier capabilities with Redwood’s technical requirements.
- Drive cost reduction initiatives while ensuring supply continuity and risk mitigation.
- Manage supplier performance, including quality, cost, delivery, and sustainability metrics.
- Develop deep insights into industry trends, supply chain risks, and market dynamics to inform Redwood’s procurement strategies.
- Work cross-functionally with logistics, operations, and finance teams to optimize inventory, production planning, and overall supply chain efficiency.
- Identify and mitigate supply chain risks through diversification strategies, dual sourcing, and contingency planning.
Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business, engineering, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in global supply chain management, sourcing, procurement, or supplier management, preferably in advanced manufacturing, energy storage, or high-tech industries.
- Strong negotiation skills with a track record of driving cost savings and securing favorable contract terms.
- Experience managing supplier relationships, including contract negotiations, performance management, and risk mitigation.
- Ability to analyze complex data, market trends, and cost structures to drive strategic sourcing decisions.
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Knowledge of commodity markets, sustainability initiatives, and regulatory compliance related to battery materials or electronics is a plus.
- Proficiency in supply chain management tools, ERP systems, and data analytics platforms.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to perform the essential job functions consistent safely and successfully with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
- Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state, and local standards
Working Conditions:
- Environment, such as office or outdoors.
- Ability to work in challenging working conditions which may include exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, and temperature extremes, while protected by PPE, for extended periods of time.
- Essential physical requirements, such as climbing, standing, stooping, or typing.
- Occasional work weekends, nights, or be on-call as a regular part of the job.
- Occasional travel requirements.
In accordance with California pay transparency laws, the salary range for this position is listed below. Actual compensation may vary based on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and skills.
California Pay Range:
$150,000—$300,000 USD
The position is full-time. Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
