Description

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Residential Solar Installer to join our team, focusing on solar installations for homes across Central Alberta. As a Residential Solar Installer, you will be responsible for the installation and maintenance of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, ensuring they are installed safely and efficiently while meeting high-quality standards.

Duties:

• Install solar PV systems on rooftops and ground mounts, ensuring proper alignment, fastening, and commissioning.
• Load and unload construction materials, moving them to work areas
• Assemble and install solar racking and modules according to specifications
• Ensure all electrical wiring is completed accurately and safely.
• Perform site preparation tasks, including leveling earth, trench digging, or backfilling.
• Remove rubbish, recycling, and other debris at construction sites using rakes, shovels, wheelbarrows, and other equipment.
• Operate manual and powered hand tools
• Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment
• Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshooting of installed systems

Skills and Qualifications:

• Experience in solar installation or other electrical/construction work
• Class 5 driver’s licence.
• Ability to pass a fitness-to-work test
• Knowledge of electrical construction and safety concerns
• CSTS 2020 Foundations (available online for free through ACSA)
• A quality mindset and attention to detail
• Ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions
• Previous fall arrest training an asset

Additional Responsibilities and Duties:

• Assist electrical or supervisor colleagues in their tasks as required.
• Provide excellent customer service, answering questions and addressing concerns from residential or commercial clients.
