Main purpose of positionCurrently we are looking for a MV & BESS Package Manager in Nagaa Hamady, Egypt to be part of our global team working together towards our vision – Improving our future. As our MV & BESS Package Manager you will be responsible for the planning, execution, supervision, and delivery of medium-voltage (MV) systems and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) within large-scale energy projects. This includes managing design, procurement, construction, testing, commissioning, and grid integration, ensuring compliance with technical standards, contractual requirements, safety protocols, and project schedules.

The role also involves on-site supervision, overseeing contractors and subcontractors to ensure proper execution of MV distribution networks, switchgear installations, and BESS deployment. The Package Manager acts as the primary interface between engineering teams, EPC contractors, suppliers, and utility authorities to ensure successful project execution

 

Main responsibilities:

  • Project Execution & Coordination: manage the MV & BESS project package, ensuring alignment with project objectives, budget, and schedule; Coordinate with engineering teams, procurement, and construction teams to ensure smooth execution;
  • Site Supervision & Construction Management: Oversee on-site construction and installation of MV switchgear, RMUs, and distribution transformers, MV cables, terminations, and power distribution networks; Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), including inverters, PCS, and EMS integration.
  • Testing & Commissioning: Oversee pre-commissioning, functional testing, and final commissioning of MV & BESS systems; ensure execution of: MV protection relay testing and primary/secondary injection tests; Cable insulation resistance (IR) and high-potential (Hi-Pot) tests.
  • Quality Assurance & Compliance: Ensure adherence to contractual, technical, and safety requirements; Verify compliance with approved FAT (Factory Acceptance Test) and SAT (Site Acceptance Test) reports.
  • Risk Management & Problem-Solving: Identify potential risks related to design, construction, and commissioning and develop mitigation plans; Implement corrective actions for technical issues, regulatory challenges, or construction delays; Address safety hazards related to high-energy storage systems and MV installations.
  • Stakeholder & Reporting Management: Act as the primary interface between EPC contractors, vendors, and utility authorities; Conduct progress meetings and technical discussions with all stakeholders; Provide weekly and monthly reports on work progress, risks, and commissioning status.
  • Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Compliance: Ensure strict compliance with electrical safety protocols, work permits, and lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures.

 

Qualifications and competencies 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in MV substation projects, BESS installation, or grid integration.
  • Experience in on-site supervision, contractor management, and commissioning
  • Project Management Certification (PMP or equivalent).
  • Hands-on experience in SCADA integration, EMS, and MV protection systems.
  • Knowledge of ABB, Siemens, GE, SEL, or Schneider protection relays.
  • Strong expertise in MV power distribution, transformers, switchgear, and protection systems.
  • Knowledge of BESS technology, inverters, power conversion systems (PCS), and EMS.
  • Understanding of grid integration, power dispatch, and SCADA/remote monitoring
  • Proficiency in MS Office and project management tools (MS Project, Primavera, etc.).
